We used to walk along the beach everyday, but since BB started schoolย the school run takes us in the opposite direction so we don’t get down there as often as we used to. This week the sun came out after days of rain and with no pressing deadlines Little B and I went for a stroll to make the most of it. This is what BB calls the ‘broken pier’ – the West Pier in Brighton which closed in 1975 and has been destroyed by numerous fires over the years. It’s not maintained, which means that every time there’s a big storm there’s a little bit less of it left. Which I think is quiteย sad…
One of my favourite views in Sussex, beautifully captured
Thank you for linking up
It’s definitely an iconic one!
What a beautiful photo, I would love to be able to walk along the coast everyday, it is a car ride for us
I know – we’re very lucky!!x
Aww! That is quite sad….
A beautiful photo though x
I’m so excited to see which you’ll have!x
I always think so!
Beautiful! I remembered it when it was burnt down all over the news.
I remember the fire in the 1980s but not the later ones – when I was little it was still quite intact…
Such a beautiful photo, but how sad that it won’t be there one day…
I always wonder what it will look like when BB and Little B are grown up, and if they’ll remember what it was like nowx
What a beautiful capture I just love the way the *broken pier* draws you into the picture! The textures and colours are also very pleasing. xx #mysundayphoto
I was quite pleased with it I have to admit!
What a beautiful photo and it is quite sad the pier isn’t maintained anymore ๐ Great Wall to have on your doorstep though ๐ X
I know – we can’t really complain can we?!
