As a result, it’s worth doing everything possible to ensure that you have the best experience possible in order to create memories that last a lifetime.

Holiday destinations to consider as a family in 2026

Greek Islands

The Greek Isles are an amazing destination for either families or couples. Whether you’re lodging in Santorini or find yourself debating Corfu holidays, you’ll find an abundance of different activities. You might take a cruise to visit the smaller islands, or spend your afternoon exploring a water park, or even see what ancient history these stunning islands have to offer.

Italy: Timeless & elegant

It’s for good reason that so many people flock to Italy each year. The food, culture, heritage and iconic scenery consistently brings families flocking. There are plenty of places throughout Italy that are great family destinations, it all depends on the type of holiday you’d like. Avid skiers? The Dolomites are a fantastic location. Need a beach? Sardinia is a great option for families with toddlers.

France

France is another destination that can be fantastic for families thanks to the short flight times from the UK. If you want a city break, Paris offers everything you’d like with more famous locations than can be named, including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Notre Dame. But, if you want more of a beach holiday, you are spoilt for choice with Southern France having access to the mediterranean and a warmer climate.

Belgium

Belgium, though one of the smaller countries in Europe, it has a lot of great things to discover as a family. If a historic holiday is something that you are interested in, then this is a great location to consider. There are countless iconic medieval structures, including the famous tower, Belfry; as well as cosy little inns, waffle stands, and other traditional wonders. Plan your visit so that it doesn’t coincide with peak tourist season, and you’ll find it much easier to get around – though this is easier said than done when going as a family. Also, be aware that the historic section is largely cobblestone – so be prepared to make a lot of noise if you’re dragging a wheeled suitcase to your lodgings!
