It’s been a snuggle down with a scone sort of a weekend in our neck of the woods. My brother rented a cottage on the border of Sussex and Kent for his birthday so we escaped the howling wind and decamped there on Saturday afternoon. My mum produced a batch of scones in spite of the fact there were no scales, no cutter and the sugar was in cubes. As you can see they turned out rather well!
Oooo! Scones! I love scones and nothing tastes better than English scones!!!!

We did thank you!
That looks like a truly delicious scone, I bet it was a cosy way to spend an afternoon.
So nice to stop and sit down for a little while!
Your mum sounds like a legend, that looks like a beautiful scone despite all the adverse conditions! And eating it in front of an open fire in a rented cottage sounds blissful.
It was so nice to get away for the day!x
