#MySundaySnapshot this week pretty much sums up our weekend: wet wet wet! Despite the rain I still managed to make it to our allotment for a couple of hours, where Lady Emma Hamilton is the last rose of summer (don’t worry, I’m not going mad – this rose is actually called that, named after Lord Nelson’s mistress!) As long as it’s not windy or torrential I actually quite like gardening in the rain: the pitter patter of rain drops, the smell of wet soil and the earth worms doing their thing. Plus it’s amazing what you can get done when you don’t have kids in tow – because of course they hate gardening in the rain!
She is a beautiful rose! We’ve just got a handful of flowers left in our garden now. I do miss the colour.
” love is all around me, and the feeling grows” (Wet, Wet, Wet) Sorry, but it popped into my head. The flowers is certainly a thing of love though, how beautiful, but a little naughty of Nelson having a mistress π
I did think for a second you were naming all of your roses. hehehe
What a pretty, delicate thing x
Rain drops make everything so pretty X #mysundaysnapshot
What a lovely photo – and I love the thought of gardening in the rain. It’s much too hot over here at the moment for gardening. #MMBC
Such a lovely photo and what a beautiful, delicate rose xx
A rose is a delight anytime you find one and this one is quite beautiful! #MMBC
That is such a beautiful rose – they were my Nana’s favourite! Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
Such a pretty rose. It has been thoroughly wet and vile here this week too! Weird autumn weather!
#mysundaysnapshot sorry it’s a little late!
