Instead of a bunch of flowers for Mother’s Day this year BB and Little B bought me a David Austin shrub rose, which I planted on our allotment. It’s called Munstead Wood and this week it bloomed for the first time – great big blousy flowers which have filled our living room with the most amazing scent all week. This is an old English rose which are my favourite, and I have seven different varieties on our allotment. I love their big cup-like heads and the pattern of their petals inside.
Such a pretty bloom, really lovely x
Thank you, I think so!
Oh it is so pretty and what a gorgeous colour too.
I love the pattern of the petals the bestx
That’s such a gorgeous rose, I love the deep colour. I miss the rose trees from my old house, I loved the smell of the garden when they were all in bloom. I really need to get some more.
You should plant some! We only have an allotment at the moment but if and when we finally get a garden I’m going to fill it with roses!
Love the rose and colour. We’ve just planted a couple of David Austin roses in our garden
Thank you for linking up
David Austin roses have such a fantastic smell, unlike a lot of shop-bought roses you get nowadays…
That is just beautiful! Such a gorgeous colour x
Wow, that is so beautiful, I love the colour, it is what I like to call a ‘proud’ colour, Clio lending a helping hand for Coombe Mill
Yes – ‘proud’ is the right word!
