Fancy winning a garden chiminea, a set of solar string lights, a rainbow paddling pool with built-in sprinkler system (such a thing does indeed exist!), a citronella jar candle AND a kids’ garden tool kit?
Then you’ve come to the right place!
With the school holidays underway and a heatwave upon us we’ve teamed up with garden and homeware specialists TJ Hughes to give away a summer garden bundle worth more than £60!
If you haven’t heard of TJ Hughes before they’re a discount department store chain where you’ll find up to 70% off big name brands across home, fashion, fragrance, cosmetics and electrical goods.
They very kindly invited us to choose some items from their garden range to spruce up our outside space and make the most of the summer, and they’ve also given us a set of everything featured here in this post to give away to one reader – just the job to kick off the school holidays!
Getting our garden summer ready with TJ Hughes
If you’re a regular follower of the blog you’ll know that although we don’t have a garden we have an allotment, which we treat as a garden, and you’ll find us there after school, at weekends and in the school holidays.
One of the first things we did when we took on the allotment is add a lawn (much to the horror of some of our allotment neighbours!) so that we had an area of grass to sit, play and enjoy being outdoors. We bought rolls of turf but you can also plant grass yourself by learning how to sow grass seed.
Our allotment has got everything you might expect to find in a garden – shed, garden furniture, barbecue and gnomes – so when TJ Hughes got in touch and asked us to try out some of the items in their garden range I didn’t need asking twice!
They’ve got everything you can think of from practical gardening kit to outdoor accessories. Something that’s been on my garden wish-list for a while is a chiminea, so we can sit outside in the evening once it starts to get chilly, and the kids can roast marshmallows. With an rrp of £79.99 TJ Hughes is selling this garden chiminea for just £34.99 – that’s a saving of 56% – which you’ve got to agree is quite a bargain! It took me under 10 minutes to build with no tools needed, and it’s the perfect addition to our seating area.
They’ve also got citronella jar candles (£2.49) to keep summer bugs away…
…and strings of LED solar lights (rrp £13.99 but only £6.99 at TJ Hughes) to help make the most of the long summer nights.
They’ve also got lots to choose from for kids, from trampolines and outdoor games to gardening tools especially for little people. We couldn’t resist this ladybird tool kit (rrp £5.99 but currently on offer for just £1.99) – perfect for little hands and with no sharp edges either.
But the best bit of kit has to be this rainbow spray pool (£14.99), which comes with a built-in sprinkler system so that water jets up around the rim.
It’s got its own hose attachment, so once you’ve filled the pool all you need to do is connect your garden hose and the kids (and grown-ups) have their very own spray pool.
And it doesn’t get much better than a rainbow spray pool when you’re four!
So, if you fancy winning one – and everything else featured in this post – here’s how.
