After a week of rain followed by a week of sunshine the first strawberries of summer have made an appearance on our allotment. Here’s BB with the very first one – a great big fat juicy number which tasted absolutely delicious! I don’t know about you but I always think things taste better when you’ve grown them yourself, plus growing fruit and veg ourselves means the kids are more likely to eat it. We’ve also been hard at work on our wildlife garden ready for the big reveal this week – come back tomorrow and you’ll see what we’ve created! Do you grow strawberries at home and are yours starting to ripen too?

Things definitely taste better when you grow them yourself. Looks like an awesome strawberry. Hope the rest of your crop is as good. #MySundayphoto
Oh home grown British strawberries – yum. It will be PYO season soon then 🙂
So true, they always taste better

There’s nothing like growing your own food – and strawberries are my favorite food.
Oh yes! They always taste better when you grow them yourself….
A massive harvest! I have a wild strawberry potted plants that gives me berries yearly but was feasted on by slugs so we are not going to have any this year. #MySundayPhoto
