I know last week’s #MySundayPhoto was a picture from our allotment, but I couldn’t resist sharing another after this little beauty came into flower this week. I had my doubts whether she would bloom as she came home from nursery as a sapling with the littlest one, who planted her from seed. She was tightly clenched between two toddler fists and a bit battered, so it wasn’t the best start. Then we had the heatwave, when she wilted in protest no matter how much I watered her, but she perked up in early September and low and behold we now have a flower. Better late than never as they say! Isn’t she gorgeous?

Oh well done. I always fail with sunflowers.
That is an awesome specimien. I’ve never managed to grow a sunflower like this. Very impressive #mysundayphoto
I am rather jealous. Our sunflowers all failed this year, In part because I left a four year old in charge of planting them, then the heat got to all our little sprouts #MySundayPhoto
The best part of having an allotment must be moments like this, seeing the fruits of your labour.
Gorgeous! Ours have all but shrivelled up now π . #mysundayphoto
How beautiful! I am so pleased it grew for you π
It’s a beauty!
That is fantastic! I do love sunflowers. They always look so cheery x
Hi Natalie, that is a sunflower your toddler should be proud of. I bet she’s the talk of the allotment, being so late she’ll get all the attention.

Better late than never eh? Looking beautiful!
Adding a late burst of colour, love it
Thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
She survived. I have two small ones that are still blooming, but they were very neglected. I now see I need a toddler to look after my sunflowers next year. #MMBC
Wow a sunflower in October! Nice to have a reminder to summer sun #mysundayphoto
