Looking for the perfect gift that will stand the test of time and that you can choose from the comfort of your own home without breaking the bank?
Then you’ve come to the right place!
We’ve teamed up with personalised book specialists In The Book to help bang the drum about their range of personalised children’s books designed to help raise little readers after a survey revealed just 18% of parents read to their baby or toddler for 20 minutes each day.
They very kindly gifted us a set of personalised childrens books including a beautifully illustrated Peter Rabbit Little Guide to Life for Violet – and we’ve got another one to give away to one of you lovely lot too!
If you haven’t come across In The Book before they produce personalised books for children of all ages from character stories to encyclopedias to timeless classics. They also have a Disney and Marvel licence and in some of their titles it’s even possible to include a photo of your child at the end.
We’re big readers in our house and with four children we’ve amassed rather a lot of books over the years. I’ve found it’s the personalised ones that really stand the test of time and get read again and again.
The kids love seeing their names and pictures inside books – for example, a Peppa Pig book the oldest was gifted six years ago when she was three remains one of our most read bedtime stories!
So, if you’d like to know what you can find on In The Book’s virtual book shelf read on!
Timeless classics
In The Book’s range includes the Beatrix Potter series and there are a host of personalised stories to choose from, including this Peter Rabbit Little Guide to Life (ยฃ27.99) which would make a perfect gift for a new baby.
The book comes with your baby’s name on the cover and spine and you can also add a message on the first page too.
The baby’s name is then printed on every page of the book which offers advice and words of wisdom on everything from manners to morals.
It’s also charmingly illustrated with all the famous Beatrix Potter characters and comes in a gift box embossed with silver.
If you fancy winning one for yourself or to give away as a gift scroll down to find out how!
Educational books
If it’s educational books you’re after there are lots to choose from including this personalised kids’ encyclopedia (from ยฃ17.99) aimed at primary school children.
Your child’s name features on every single page as well as the cover and it’s packed full of all sorts of interesting facts and information.
You can also have your child’s photo printed at the back which is such a nice keepsake for our little Batman as he enters year one.
Horrible Histories
As well as licences for the likes of Disney, Marvel and Peter Rabbit there are also well known kids’ favourites including Horrible Histories (ยฃ14.99) which our oldest (nine) is heavily into at the moment.
Like the Peter Rabbit book your child’s name features on the cover as well as every single page and there’s space for a personalised message at the front too.
Having been off school for six months owing to lockdown this was the perfect gift to make going back to school extra special this year.
Seasonal stories
Christmas stories are also a big hit in our house – they get read all year around! – so a personalised one is always going to be a winner.
In The Book’s Your Letter To Santa (from ยฃ17.99) charts the journey of your little one’s letter to Father Christmas from the post box to the man himself, featuring your child’s name on every single page.
Your child’s name is also featured in illustrations within the book which is such a clever touch and this one absolutely loved spotting hers.
And when she saw her picture at the end of the story the look on her face was priceless!
